The TAP team would like to invite our valued and new members to our Christmas party. Refreshments shall of course be served, so that you can all eat, drink and be merry!

We have had a great year, receiving brilliant and constructive feedback on our events, from the entrepreneurship seminar through to our insightful careers evening, not to mention an array of engaging and motivational speakers. Who could forget Christopher Muttukumaru's charm, or the inspiring Vithya Hair & Makeup, or the inimitable Karthik Nagesan of The Apprentice? We would like to use this event as an opportunity to celebrate 2017 and thank you for your support.

With Christmas usually being a time for reflection and charity, we have the pleasure of having as guest speaker – Jekhan Aruliah.

Brought up in London, Jekhan graduated from Cambridge University in 1986 with a degree in Natural Sciences. He spent over 2 decades in the IT industry, including 10 years managing offshore software development for British companies in Colombo and in Gurgaon (India). Jekhan then joined University College London’s Institute of Education in 2009 and spent five years teaching mathematics up to university entrance in the English secondary school system.

In 2015, Jekhan decided to throw it all in and move to Jaffna. Eight years since the end of the Sri Lankan Civil War, the Northern economy is still adrift and Jekhan is searching for the keys to unleash the tremendous economic power that has failed to assert itself in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. He has worked with and spoken at various organisations, including governmental, commercial, educational, NGO, charitable, diaspora, and diplomatic.

Jekhan has written articles for the online Sri Lankan business magazine, Lanka Business Online, which may give you a useful preview into some of his thinking:

Jekhan will be offering his insights and opinions on the development of the North of Sri Lanka, and will be taking questions from the audience. Please do come down for what will be a very engaging conversation and to celebrate the year with us.

Please note that due to venue security, you will need to register or will not be permitted entry.

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you on the 12th – and in 2018!
